Included in this issue are recipes that are perfect for breakfast or brunch – or any meal, for that matter. Easy-to-make casseroles save cooks time in the kitchen. For something a little sweeter, try sweet rolls or fruit bread. If you're looking for a hot, filling breakfast, try homemade cereal. Sausages, omelets and frittatas will satisfy the hungriest of appetites, and you simply can't go wrong with hot-off-the-griddle pancakes, waffles and French toast, not to mention homemade sauces and syrups to cover those griddle goodies.

Over the past 80 years, thousands of recipes have been shared with CAPPER’S, CAPPER’S WEEKLY and GRIT, and we have cataloged as many as possible.

Through Good Things to Eat, it's our pleasure to share a few of these delicious recipes with you and your family.

Our next issue of Good Things to Eat will feature a variety of fruits and vegetables, just in time for summer.

Louisiana Fruit Salad is a quick, easy and refreshing salad that can be made in minutes. Barbecued Sauerkraut is a terrific dish to serve with grilled burgers, pork chops or steaks at a picnic or potluck.

When the corn in your garden is ready to pick, take some time to preserve it. While Never-Fail Canned Corn is a little time-consuming, it's well worth the effort, and you'll get to enjoy your garden produce all year long.

Breads and desserts are always a nice treat, especially when made with fresh fruits and vegetables. Pear Bread is quick and easy to make, and is ready in about an hour. If you're looking for a simply delicious dessert, try Zucchini Pineapple Cake or Strawberry Shortcake.
